HURRY, HURRY, READ ALL ABOUT IT !!!

Well after a spell of unwellness, I have decided to work from my studio, so you can now come and see me there, by appointment. This will give me more time to experiment with many mediums. It is a wonderful space and I am so very lucky to have it.

So I am very busy moving all my junk into it---with the very kind help of my wonderful friend Jo---thank you Jo.

whats it all about then.........................

Well here I am, nearly forty something, and wondering whats it all about then.............

It seems that biscuits, bunting and babies, somes up the various highlights, that one looks for, with oodles of fabric, wool and creating along the way.

For me a constant searching for one individual thing that will fill my life up and make me whole , does not exist. I delight in many things. the growing of seeds into plants and produce, the growth and developement of ones kids---no matter how they turn out !!!! The smell of home baked bread, and spreading jam on the centre of a victoria sponge cake !!! The freckles on my kids faces, and the giggles that they make------ What more could one ask for ???

I suppose having lots of money does have its obvious advantages, but what is there to delight in if you can have anything you want?? I feel that being creative in all that we do and the make do and mend approach far more rewarding .

So all though I am not a conventional Goddess, I am sure of one thing-- that I am truly blessed and grateful for being me.

Wow, I am so pleased to announce that I have been voted on as a member of the British Toymakers Guild, so expect to see more of me at various toy shows up and down the country, details will be posted as soon as I know.

I really enjoyed making up this doll and plan to make more wooden dolls in the future--so watch this space !!!

Gorgeous--the HANDMADE SHOP in Alcester. Do go and check out the shop in Alcester, it is truly scrumptious !!! Many of my creations can be purchased there and they have an upstairs gallery opening this weekend--6th Of December. They also run workshops and give free advice to any crafters and artists. Dont forget not many shopping days left till Christmas!!!!

The female form

I never get tired of sculpting the female form, an ocean asthetic, beautiful. I make these to commission only, but will be selling them in the Handmade Gallery in Alcester very soon !!

Sewing doll caddy for my best friend Jo.

Here is a lovely sewing caddy doll, based on an antique in a museum in the usa. This doll can be purchased as a kit from http://www.gailwilsonsdesigns.com/ and is a real pleasure to make. I am currently making one in red gingham for myself, do check out her website for more unusual antique inspired dolls, with amazingly accurate instructions, but mostly for the experienced needlework person.

I am busy working on some heritage style dolls which I am submitting to the toymakers guild. Here is a sneak preview. More news when thay are completed.

Dotties Birthday Bunny !!!

Here is Dottie-Mays birthday bunny that I made for her, she insisted that I get it onto my blogg, so here she is. She has a cath kidston cloth body and german mohair arms ,head and ears. I do sell similar, please feel free to email me for further information.

Knitted cakes !!!!

Today I will be mostly knitting cakes !!! Here are a few of the calorie free darlings, they are awaiting beads etc. I will publish a photo of the finished articles once they are completed, plus a free knitting pattern !!!

How to make blackberry muffins and chocolate !!!!

You will need the following,

into a large mixing bowl place--

two medium eggs, two large mugs full of self raising flour, one large mug full of caster sugar, one large mug full of margarine or vegetable oil and half a pint of milk, or a little more so that the mixture has the right consistency.

Mix it altogether to form a yummy mixture, then add three quarters of a very large bar of bournville chocolate chopped up and two large mugfulls of black berries and slowly fold in.

Place the mixture into cake cases within two muffin pans.

Place in the oven for 20 mins on 185 degrees, then allow to cool. Once cooled melt the rest of the bournville chocolate and drizzle over the top.

Afterwards, allow you kettle to boil and make yourself a nice cup of lady grey tea and sample your wares !!
