Museum Monday..... additional peg dolls in gallery 8.

Here at the museum of childhood in gallery 8 , we take alook at another of these great peg-dutch dolls,

Heres the naked doll, which shows you exactly her mechanism, although alot of them vary , they are basically the same .

Another great, prim little face, with minimum fuss, but to great effect.

and I thought I would also include this special girl, who is a red riding hood dressed version of the same type of wooden doll.

I hope you enjoy them as much as I do, and do pop to the museum in sudbury if you get the chance to. I will be clocking in again on wednesday, so show a peep, as to whats going on on the worktable :)

Have a creative week !

Not to be left out the pugs decided to join in........

Getting into the trug was the only option !!

and then trying to sleep in it, to definately become the main focus of attention !!

Museum Monday----Bert the paper mache whale.......in Gallery 8 Sudbury Hall

Bert the whale was a joy to make with the children that visited me in gallery 8, he is made from an old box, a very large one ,and lots of old national trust magazines plus undiluted pva.

I cut out a large card background and then got the children to help me scrunch up large pieces of paper and stick them onto the card. Then we used strips of paper ontop to give him his finish and the marvellous pva.

We also used an additional piece of card covered in paper strips for his tail and finn.

Here he is on the wall secured by velcro--he is very , very sweet and a big favourite with all the children that visit :)  Have a go at home or in classe, always feel free to email me for the full instructions etc, I am always happy to help and to see your projects developed, have a wonderful creative time !
