Vintage Dolly and her Trousseau !!

Here is a dolly and her hand knitted wardrobe that I created using patterns that I collect. I have thousands of knitting patterns that date back to the 1800's.
I hand knit everything myself using vintage materials whenever possible and natural fibres, so please feel free to contact me with all your dollies clothing desires!! I can also recreate garments from old photos etc, I dont need a knitting pattern and often re-knit a moth eaten article.---I like a challenge !!!!

MIXED MEDIA SHADOW BOX.

I love making funky little shadow boxes, they are such fun! I like to mix textiles, paper, jewels, whenever I can, and I love the image of the russian doll, it will never fail to please!!
I like to use old sheet music for the backing too, these old books can be found quite cheaply on flea markets, thrift shops and on the good old british car boots ! ( In fact I think you can find everything at the carboot!!)

Izzanah Walker style of heritage doll

Heres a picture of a recently completed, fabric sculpted doll, with breastplate. She is hand painted and is reminiscent of the Izzanah Walker dolls of america. Behind her is one of the minature wall quilts that I make, hand pieced using both vintage and new fabrics, then hand quilted, please feel free to contact me for prices.

my tin chapel !!

Here is the Tin Chapel where my textiles business began.Unused as a chapel it served as an amazing peaceful studio.
Now that we have moved to the cotswolds, I have another studio in a barn--visitors welcome, by appointment!
But I still have the use of my lovely tin chapel in Gloucestershire, for the future.
Theres no getting away from the fact that chapels and churches make great places to work, as they are so peaceful and always seem to have great light!

dupion ripped silk wedding dress !!

I am busy finishing a one off wedding dress for a friend, designed by me, I will post photos of this, after her wedding, as we dont want it out there first. I am having to tear up thousands of strips of dupion silk and fray the edges, very time consuming, but the effect is awesome!!
